The Alamo Mission, which is commonly referred to as 'The Alamo', is a historic Spanish mission and fortress compound. It was founded in the 18th century by Roman Catholic missionaries. It is world-renowned as the site of the Battle of the Alamo in 1836. Today it is a museum in the Alamo Plaza Historic District and a part of the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site.
Not only is this a fascinating historic site, it is an equally haunted one if accounts are to be believed. Accounts of ghostly encounters started within days of the fall of the Alamo. Sightings have since included moving shadows, a sentry that patrols the roof on rainy nights, a man in a plantation hat walking the grounds, a young blonde boy and little girl in white, and the ghosts of Davey Crockett and John Wayne! Also reported was the replay of a spectral man in buckskins riddled with bullets being bayonetted by Mexican soldiers.
Other phenomena include the sounds of screams and moans, and the feelings of a presence that creeps up behind them.

Built in 1867 on the site of the 1842 Battle of Salado, Victoria's Black Swan Inn has earned a reputation for being a very historic - and haunted - hotel. According to their website, the Inn is 'steeped in tradition and lore', no doubt because since 5000 BC the land was occupied by native Americans. They now embrace their haunted heritage and host ghost tours and investigations.
According to sources, a number of apparitions have been sighted at the premises. These include a man in one of the bedrooms, another man and woman dressed in 1920's attire. The Veranda Suite is considered to be the most active.
Other phenomena include being poked by inseen hands, doors open and close on their own, the movement of objects and furniture, lights flicker, cold spots felt and unusual sounds and heavy footsteps are heard.
Some investigators have claimed to have obtained EVP's whilst at the property.
